INFORMATION LEAFLETS

When this group started in 1997 there was no information at all on the internet for patients. There is now so much conflicting information that NLSSG has decided not to produce leaflets but to choose to suggest some of the more up to date and patient friendly information leaflets and sites on the internet. The leaflets recommended below are from a good reliable source. Please see list and links below.

NLSSG has received many phone calls asking for information leaflets but when a small fee to help with costs is requested, contacts say they do not want to pay for information they can get 'free' on the internet. Unfortunately this situation has posed challenges for this organisation and those who wish for free information by post can obtain it by calling NHS Direct (number below). At the end of the day, no leaflet ever answers all questions and often a one to one conversation on the National Vulva Helpline can offer a much wider scope for help and information for your own indivudual case. (Helpline number below). Leaflets offer 'generalised' information that is usually suitable for most patient contacts but do not always address complicated or unusual issues.

If you are looking for information for a friend or relative who does not have computer access they can also call NHS Direct 08454647, who will send out leaflets.
